Joy of Love: Generations

Garrett's Dad was in town tonight for a conference and he invited us out to dinner with him.

I'm so glad that we were able to meet up with him. Even though we last saw each other a month ago it feels like it has been longer and Ethan has grown so much!

Ethan instantly became friends with his 'Poppy' when he offered to take him walking. Now that Ethan can walk he doesn't like to sit in a highchair at the restaurant he wants to explore!

You would think that Ethan would be the one not looking at the camera! ;-)

3 Generations of Moring men. Love them all!

(ps- I know I'm horribly behind on my "Joy of Love" posts. I haven't quit, I just took a break from it one night and haven't gotten back into it. This is why I haven't tried project 365 yet!)

We have had some nice weather this week so Ethan and I have gone outside for walks. At first he would hold my hand while we walked outside but very soon he decided that he preferred to walk all on his own. Like a big boy.

I couldn't interest him on walking on the grass either. Slowed him down too much.

He was so funny. Anytime he saw a leaf, bit of grass, crack in the sidewalk, etc. He had to step on it. Even stepped on a worm. Eww. (Not sure what he was stepping on here.)

Happily trotting off. A view a momma sees often.

I love those precious baby curls

Oh! Hello bush.

We walked back and forth back and forth along the sidewalk in front of our apartment. Ethan was having SO much fun!

Better late than never!

I never did get around to sending Valentines day cards this year. So here is an e-card instead. :-)

Running with Spoons

This weeks preferred entertainment has been Momma's plastic spoons.

Ethan has discovered one of the true joys of walking. Having both hands free to hold things

He has also discovered how to run.

What is better than one spoon? Two

Time to drum on the speaker. One of his favorite things to do lately. That and stick things behind the entertainment center.

Ethan is so expressive. I wonder if we are going to have a little ham on our hands? (just like his daddy)

Ethan's Dream

Ethan in Dreamland

Earlier this month Ethan and I had our playgroup friends over for some green screen fun! I shut off the doors to the kitchen, my bedroom, and the bathroom (and put the cats safely away) and opened up Ethan's room so that the kids could crawl/walk from the living room to Ethan's room full of toys. We took pictures of the kids chasing balls across the screen, riding a rocking horse (wearing western wear) and of course pictures of the kids playing together in Ethan's room. They were being so sweet! I love seeing the kids interact with each other. Ethan had a BLAST and was so worn out after playgroup that he was no longer running, no longer walking, but crawling slowly around the house. He also took a great nap! (YAY!)

Ethan crawled up to the screen and took a moment to take in the largeness of it. A split second later he was off! (but we had an image to work with!) I never know ahead of time how these things will turn out or if I'll be able to get the shot that I have in my head. Kids are so unpredictable. But that's also what makes them so fun!

So how did we get the dream image? We used the green screen image of Ethan plus  this one:

and this image

and this one

to get this:

What do you think kids dream of?

One of Garrett's dreams is to own a Delorean.

Valentines Day Cupcake

I mentioned on another post that "Ethan decorated" a valentines day cupcake at playgroup. Well he kept reaching for it so I decided that I'd let him eat it once we got home. After all, his birthday cupcake was never tasted since he threw it straight on the floor. I figured the kid deserved a second chance.

I never knew our highchair had so many nooks and crannies. Even though I had to take parts of it apart and clean it with a toothpick it was worth the effort. However, Ethan won't be getting another iced cupcake till his second birthday ;-) And next time? I won't forget to put a bib on him.
