I love this little face!

Most of the time naps end with a grumpy Ethan. He needs his "wake up" time after naps before he's back to his normal happy self.

But sometimes when I go into his room I find this beautiful smile. I love this little face!

Halloween preview

Someone got his Halloween costume over the weekend!

Gyro Bowl

Ethan got a new bowl from his Mimi.

It's super neat! Garrett and I have had fun playing with it. I originally wondered if it would teach Ethan that a bowl didn't have to be held carefully but I was wrong. He doesn't like to tilt it and wants it to sit straight up and down on the floor.

Of course, even if he wants the bowl to sit nicely accidents happen. However, this bowl didn't spill when he accidentally tipped it.

How cool is that? (says the person would have been sweeping up that spill)

While Bailey has taken to napping under our bed during the day and only coming out during nap time and night time, Beau has decided to live more dangerously.

And Ethan still wants to get himself a kitty cat! (Last September)

He wanted the camera so bad! After I took a picture he came around behind me and wanted to see his image on the screen. Isn't 20 months a little young for that?!

Fall Teaser

Last week the temperatures dropped and we had a preview of the Fall weather to come. It was fantastic! When I saw Ethan at the window I felt so bad for the little guy. I quickly threw on clothes so that I could take him outside.

As I was closing up the windows so that we could leave, I saw this:



I had no idea that he was up to more than just feeling the cool air! I should have known when I saw him putting toys up against the window.

Mama Haircut

Someone got a haircut from his Mama!

Third time I've cut his hair and I'm getting better at it. At least now I know to cut his hair dry since it shrinks up so much if you cut it wet!

The wearer of many...err... one hat.

These photos were taken yesterday at the lensbaby "photo both" meetup. He was being so funny. He was so particular about where he wanted to sit and what hat he wanted to wear. I tried to get him to sit somewhere else and he came right back over to this spot, took off the hat he was wearing and put this blue plastic prop hat back on. Made me laugh!

He loved that hat! The wind blew it off and he chased it down and put it back on. Over and over again. Looks like I may need to find some play hats for him!

Slides and Static Hair

Two Saturday's ago we went to the park and Ethan gave the slides a try.

Ethan decided that the slide was pretty fun.

And no, we didn't throw our child down the slide all by himself. ;-) We had already helped him slide down and he was trying to make the slide "go" again.

- You started pretend talking on the phone.




- You started feeding yourself with a spoon.





- You decided to give the slides a chance and loved it!

- You discovered that sounds change when you put your hands over your ears and you like to experiment with covering and uncovering your ears to hear the difference.

- The weather has been cooler and we have enjoyed going outside in the mornings for our morning walk.

 



- You started speech therapy this month. You move your lips like you are trying to say the sounds that we are using when we speak but you don't vocalize them yet. You show a lot of pre-talking signs so I'm sure it is only a matter of time and practice.

 

- You are in a phase where you get frustrated easily. I can tell what you want but you are unable to communicate it to me without throwing a tantrum. We are working on this though!

 

 - You have a short fuse right now. For example, if you want to put Mr. Potato Head's ears on and can't get them in the hole quick enough for your liking you get pretty upset. We have been told that you have a type A personality. Since you get this from me I'm going to go ahead and apologize. Sorry son!




- You discovered that looking through your colored plastic bowls changes the way the world looks and now you do it with all your bowls.

- You discovered your ball popper and have enjoyed dragging it around the house.



- You love to climb and are getting better at it every day. You also like to bounce on the furniture. This makes me nervous! As much as I try to discourage this behavior I think you find it too much fun to stop trying it.



- When you put a puzzle piece in its slot you like to clap and you really like it when we clap for you.




- Your mango loving streak is over and now you are on a banana kick. You love bananas!

 


- You discovered that the pantry door doesn't latch and exploring it became your favorite activity. I didn't mind the playing/stacking so much but I did mind finding the bottle of olive oil in my closet and the container of ovaltine behind the toilet. So we put an end to that game. This was a picture of you as I put the baby gate up (that's why you are on the wrong side of the gate).

- You discovered Play Dough and enjoyed squishing it into a ball.

You amaze me with your memory and how well you remember details. I love watching you grow! Happy 20 months baby! Now that your age in months starts with a "2" your second birthday no longer seems so far away!
