Sometimes it's just humorous

Sometimes it takes forever to get dressed in the morning. Not necessarily the kids getting dressed. Me. Someone always needs something, runs off, or something. Today was another one of those days. Garrett was running errands so it was just me and the boys and it was just one thing after another. Ethan wanted to practice using scissors and Landon wouldn't stop moving, getting into things, or harassing the cats. I (still half-way in PJ's) went to the other room to get Landon a tissue and came back to this scene. I stepped out of the room for only a second but that moment away made this scene suddenly seem humorous. My camera was only a few steps away. I'm sure one day I'll be glad I took the picture!

Little birdie in a nest

We've been stuck at home and majorly into the dress-ups this week!

2-4-14: Oh to be 4!

This almost makes me want to be age 4 again, you know? (On a side note, he was adamant that he was not going to wear pants.)

2-3-14: Dinosaur kitty in a cave

The dinosaur kitty crawled into a cave and pretended to be sleeping. Thing is...he actually fell asleep.

Landon: 16 & 17 months!

Landon,

At 17 months you:

  • Weigh 24.6 lbs
  • Wear size 4 disposable diapers. I'm taking a temporary break from cloth diapering because you are so wiggly its impossible to get them on you. You throw a pretty big fit every time I have to change you. Sometime Momma's sanity is worth the cost of a few boxes of diapers!
  • You wear 24 month sleepers and size 18-24 month clothing. You also wear size 5 shoes.
  • Sleep: You go down easily at bedtime and sleep from 7:30 at night to 7:30 in the morning and take a nap from 12-2 pm.
  • Food: You love everything so we'll just discuss your favorite at the moment. Oranges. You try to eat them whole in the peel you love them so much.
  • Words (new words in bold): Mama, Dada, banana, more, up, hi (you also wave when you say it), car, kitty, cracker, All done (sign language only), light, stack, Thank You, on, No-no, go!, all done (verbal), food, bye, ball, foot, duck, baa (for sheep), meow, off, food, dog, poo-poo, book and brother (BRuh-Her), moo, butterfly (fluf`-fly), open, close, Oh man, Oh me, and Oh MY! I know there are more, but I've honestly lost count. I think this is the last time I'll mention new words on your monthly posts.
  • You have 10 teeth and you love to use them.

You are goofy and easy going.

You love your brother's toys. If you even think his door might be open you'll run and try to get inside his room.

It's not just his toys that you love. You also love to go through his books.

I can't believe it, but you have started wearing clothes (and shoes) that your brother wore on his 2nd birthday. It amazes me how fast you have grown!

You love to play peek-a-boo. Sometimes you and your brother play it together in the car.

"Oh my!" You have gone from a silly exaggerated stern face when you say it to a sweet grin. You say it often.

If we blow air on you to ruffle your hair then you start blowing air back at us. You love to be silly and interact with us. If we tickle you, you'll try to tickle us back.

In a lot of ways, not much has changed in the last two months. You still love to sing and dance. You are awesome at playing by yourself and I love to hear the noises you make for airplanes and cars. You are getting more into art because you see your brother do it. You love puzzles and your shape sorter. You actually play with them for a long time. You are now taller and can reach more things and climb up on things that you couldn't quite climb up on before. You are rough, tough, and ready to be a big boy! Slow down, Landon. Someone needs to remind you that you are still a young age one and you are my baby. But oh what a fun baby you are!
