Spring 2014
Today we met up with the ladies and kids in our Lens Baby playgroup. It had been months since I had gotten together with these ladies and I had forgotten how much I missed it! The boys had a lot of fun running around and playing with the other kids and it was wonderful for me to get to talk and practice photography with others who share the same interest!

Landon: 18 Months!
Landon,At 18 months you:
- Weigh 26lbs and 8 oz (60th %) and are 33 inches tall (75th %) with a head circumfrence of 47.5 (45th %)
- Wear size 4 disposable diapers. You are still impossible to change. It's a wrestling match every time!
- You wear 24 month sleepers and size 18-24 month clothing. You also wear size 5 shoes.
- Sleep: You go down easily at bedtime and sleep from 7:30 at night to 7:30 in the morning and take a nap from 12:30 to 3 pm. Some of your nap time is spent quietly playing in your crib.
- Food: You still love most everything but are becoming a bit more selective on your veggies. You have also begun to assert your opinion. I've started giving you choices and letting you pick because you are much more inclined to eat it all if you have a say in some of the details.
- Words: You talk so much! We lost track of your word count a long time ago. You've started stringing words together to make phrases and you use your vocabulary to communicate with us as well as point stuff out and ask questions. Your favorite things to communicate with us are: eat or play, shoes, outside, and go go go!
- You have 12 teeth and you love to brush them! You will run to get your teeth brushed.
- You can lock and unlock the front and back door. You also like to try to flush things down the toilet. Thankfully I have caught you every time (and you cannot reach the garage door button yet or the deadbolt on the front door!)
- You know the letters A, S, T, O, and R and love to point them out when you see them. You also love to dance around and sing your version of the alphabet song.
- You have a toy dinosaur that you like to feed crackers to whenever you are eating crackers. He started off as your brother's dinosaur but you started carrying him everywhere and adopted him as your own. You love to make him roar at us.
- You still love to play with cars and crawl around as you push them across the floor. Above everything though, you still love books the most!
- You are becoming very independent. You will not let us feed you and you show a lot of initiative on tasks like getting your socks and shoes and brushing your teeth. Thankfully you still let me help you since you have a long way to go before you have those tasks mastered!
- You are a climber. You love to climb and are very good at it! You may only be 1 and a half but you think that you are three. You try to ride and pedal your brother's big wheel, you push him on the big wheel, and of course you try to wrestle with him, climb up the slide, and play on the big kid portion of the playground. Anything your brother does you want to try too.
- "No, no no." is your favorite phrase seconded by the phrase "Too! I too!" You also like to sweetly say "I nice" whenever I stop you from climbing or doing something you shouldn't.
You are changing and growing so fast! You are a whirlwind of activity and motion and surprise me with new things every day!

Letters to my sons: Adventurous, confident Landon!
Landon Robert Moring. Oh Landon. I was not prepared for you. I thought your brother had prepared me for what parenting a busy little boy was like. Then you came along and blew my notions of "busy" out of the water. You are self-sufficient, a quiet observer and a quick learner. You are scary. Even when I think I am not underestimating you and that I'm hovering too much, you still manage to sneak some new surprise under my radar.
You are are many things. Adventurous, fearless, Happy, joyful, confident, studious and a quick study. Timid and cautious are not one of them!
