First Studio Shoot

I recently joined a Mom's Group for stay at home mom's that are professional or hobbyist photographers. I was thrilled to find a group that incorporated my favorite hobby as well as giving Ethan friends to play with.

On Thursday I had the opportunity to take a studio shoot of Ethan. It was so much fun! I had a blast and I let Ethan play between background changes and he didn't seem to mind the photos one bit.

This one is one of my favorites! He was having so much fun in the balls.

I think this one looks like a stock photo of a baby.

He was so funny with the bubbles! He would try to catch them as they floated by but he was so serious!

I was in the best mood at the end of the shoot. I LOVE taking photos and feel such fulfillment when I get behind the camera lens and see perfect moments happening. It was seriously the best day ever!

Nostalgic

While Ethan took his morning nap, I ran across this outfit while I was putting everything away and realized that I really do have to remove the last of his 3-6 month sized clothing. Its hard packing away a clothing size when its outgrown but especially hard when it was one of their special outfits.

To help make the parting easier, I decided to squeeze him into it when he woke up for a few last photos before I put it back in the laundry to be washed and packed away for good.

And just for fun- here is a photo of Ethan exactly 3 months earlier:

6 months

At 6 months...

- Your exersaucer is now your favorite toy. You are getting kind of bored with your baby gym and while you still love the jumperoo you now find the exersaucer much more entertaining. While in the exersaucer you love to stand up and spin yourself around from toy to toy and you can do it quite well! In fact, we love that when we put you in it you start to reach for your toys before you even hit the seat! I still remember when you were first big enough to use it and you didn't know how to spin yourself or push the buttons to make your toys play noise. You used to get so frustrated with your toys! You have figured it out now though and are having so much fun. It is so fun to watch you grow and discover things about the world around you!

- You are starting to sit up for short periods of time. This seems to have happened overnight! The week before you weren't interested in sitting up and then after we came back from our 4th of July trip you just started sitting up! Your daddy and I were so amazed and proud!

- You can extend your arms fully into a baby push-up and are better at scooting around (and off) your mat.

- You went swimming for the first time!

You really enjoyed splashing and kicking in the water until you got accidentally splashed by someone else. Then swim time was over!

- We think you are teething because you have taken to gnawing on your thumb.

- You are all about cups! You reach for ours all the time and are content to play with your sippy cup. You don't know how to drink from it yet, but you do like to chew on the spout.

- You weigh 18 lbs 9.5 oz (75 th percentile) and are 27 1/2 inches long (85th percentile)!
- You wear size 6-9 month clothes.
- You have been having trouble with your eczema but the doctor just gave us some prescription strength medicine and some allergy medicine to help you stop scratching it at night.
- You love to splash in the tub and you have started sleeping on your side!

Here are some other photos from your six month of life!

4th of July Weekend!

We had a great weekend out at the Baskin's family lake house!

There was cliff jumping...

And games like corn hole, horse shoes, washers, redneck golf, ping pong, and pool.

And lots of good food! Garrett and I brought bottled water, 7 layer dip, brownies, and .....a giant rice crispy treat! The later of which was Garrett's brainchild. :-)

(10 x 10 inch cube of gooey goodness. 7 batches)

Rain rain, go away...didn't last long and it didn't stop us from having fun!

We also enjoyed swimming...

And fireworks...

And family time!

We had a great 4th of July!
