Landon: 12 months!

Landon,

In your first year of life you gained 14 lbs and 2 ounces.

You also grew 10.5 inches

At 12 months you:

  • Weigh: 21 lbs 6 oz (30th percentile), Height: 30 inches (60th percentile), Head circumference 45.6 (40th percentile)
  • Wear cloth diapers during the day and size 3 disposable diapers at night. When we finish this pack of diapers you'll be wearing size 4.
  • You wear 18 month sleepers and size 18 month clothing. You also wear size 3 shoes only I usually don't put them on you.
  • Sleep from about 7:30 to 7:30. I think some of that time you spend playing in your bed quietly though.
  • You LOVE food. We weaned you off of formula and onto table food the week prior to your first birthday and you haven't minded one bit. Chicken, broccoli, macaroni, lunch meat, cheese, fruit, it doesn't matter you shovel it in your mouth as fast as you can. It's work getting you to slow down. Once your plate is empty you lift up your bib and start picking it back up out of your bib to eat. You are so fun to feed. I love your enthusiasm.
  • You have 5 teeth with another one soon on the way.
  • Words: Mama, Dada, nana (banana), more, up
  • You have begun showing an interest in puzzles. You are a patient baby and slow to frustration (unless food is involved) so in some ways this does not surprise me. You also are an observer and have been taking note of things for months. You also don't seem to be upset by trying to do something and having it be "wrong" which allows you to enjoy figuring puzzles and toys out that are perhaps a bit old for you.
  • You have begun dancing to music and its just about the cutest thing ever. You crack me up!
  • You think it is hilarious when we make barnyard animal noises. Especially when we "neigh" or "baa". You go into big belly laughs every time!
  • You love cars, trains, and anything with wheels. Especially little cars and your brother's train set though.
  • You can drink from a couple of different sippy cups that we have as well as from a straw. However, you do have your favorite style of cup and when we use the other cups you tend to throw them before you are finished.

In your first year you have changed so much and gone from a tiny, helpless, snugly newborn to a happy, resourceful, busy little toddler! We are excited to see what new adventures your next year will bring!
