Landon: 21 Months!
Landon,
At 21 months you:
- Weigh 29 lbs and are 33 inches tall. Either I measured you wrong, or you are about to have a growth spurt because you have been at that height for 3 months though your weight has increased.
- Wear size 4 diapers at night and cloth diapers during the day.
- You are starting to wear 2T sleepers though you still wear most of your size 18-24 month clothing. You are also starting to wear size 6 shoes.
- Sleep: You are doing great but you have started getting your legs stuck outside the slats every day! One night when I went in to rescue you, you told me that you were "stuck" and that you wanted to go "outside". (You are a little bit obsessed with the outdoors)
- Food: You learned how to drink from an open cup this month and love it! You have started pulling the tops off your cups and asking for our cups to drink from. When you are mad though, you'll still throw your cup so I don't see us throwing out the sippy cups anytime soon though I will continue to let you practice drinking without a lid or straw.
- Words: You sing your entire ABC song and it is so sweet! You know so many shapes and colors and also love to sing Twinkle Twinkle. I love hearing you sing with your sweet baby voice. (note, you not only know the song, but you also have the letter recognition)
- You started counting from one to ten and you do it correctly. You like to sit in your highchair and count your bites.
- You are taking the tantrums up a notch. I've even noticed a pattern of an 11:30 and 5:30 tantrum. These tantrums are your worst.
- You still climb/balance/surf on everything you can think of. You've made up a game of throwing yourself off the couch onto your soft kid-sized chair. You've also fallen off onto the floor when I've been too slow to stop you.
- If you can see both your elephants, then you insist on both. We try to keep one washed and in the drawer.
- You can climb up on our bed now (one of the last few places that you were having trouble climbing) and you like to take our pictures off the wall.

- You have really befriended Beau-cat this month and both cats are starting to be out and about where you and your brother are during the day. Beau lets you pet him and you've been sweet to him lately and say "soft pets" as you stroke his fur. I know you are still unpredictable so I try to be close by when I see it happening but thankfully so far your encounters have gone smoothly every time. Sometimes though I have to distract you away from him after a while. Poor cat needs his rest after all. ;-)
- You are very independent and will quietly "take care of" something yourself rather than ask for help.
- You love eating the bathroom soap. You also enjoy painting with it too. (Please stop eating the soap, ok son?)
You are constantly in motion, eating, playing "up down ,up down", making yourself dizzy or reciting your alphabet. Whether its pouring chocolate milk on the cat, or trying to dump a gallon container of bubbles in the toilet, you are exploring your world with vigor. Bring on the adventures! Ready or not, here we come! ;-)

Tour de Cure
On Saturday my dad rode 84 miles in the Tour de Cure! Wow... it blows my mind. He did an awesome job and probably would have kept going but we surprised him by showing up to cheer him on and he wanted to save some energy to play with his grandsons afterwards. We had originally planned for Garrett and the boys to go and my Mom and I to attend a wedding shower but the boys and I got sick a few days prior and we didn't think we would be well in time to attend. On the morning of the event the boys were doing much better and I was doing mostly better so the four of us decided to drive in and surprise my Dad!
We were blown away by the size of the Texas Motor Speedway. It was so confusing to navigate too! Thankfully my Mom and her friend Robbie were already there cheering him on and Robbie was able to to lead us to them!
22 mph over the finish line!
Dad leaving the speedway track via the pit-stop lane.
At the end of an 84 mile bike ride. Now ready for some more fun! (Swimming, checking out a gigantic sunflower field and eating out!)
