{Practicing for those LAN parties with Dad}

Turns out that Ethan is fascinated with any keyboard. Not just the ones that are attached to the computers. :-)

Today Garrett and I spent all day working on the computer room. Also known as the third bedroom aka catch-all room. We saved it for last. Open a box and don't know where to put the contents? The computer room! Well, now I am pleased to say that the computer room has been completely mucked out and sorted and only the things that belong remain. Whoop! Pictures to be posted soon.

Oh and I couldn't resist throwing in one more picture. Bailey-cat loved my newly cleaned off desk. A few minutes after I took this photo, Beau came into the room and immediately laid down in the exact center of the room and stretched out to take a nap. It feels fantastic to have the room finally put together. The cats agree!

17 Months

This month went by fast! I didn't prepare as much for this month's post, but since you turned 17 months 12 days ago I am going to go ahead and post it. :-)

- You have a love/hate relationship with both baths and the vacuum cleaner and haven't made up your mind as to your feelings about them.

- You like to quack like a duck and are facinated with celing fans, lightswitches, and lights. You like to point at lights and then look at us so that we will say the word.

- Some days you are a great napper and some days you will only nap for 15-20 minutes. For the most part you have been resisting going down for naps when just last month you went down easy. For the most part you still sleep great a night. (dare I put this in print?)

- You have 16 teeth and have started teething again.

- You weigh 24 lbs and to the best of my measuring ability seem to be 31 inches tall.

- You wear size 18 month clothing and PJ's although the PJ's are much snugger these days and harder to get you into. Your size 24 month PJ's are too long but you wear them as well. You are wearing size 4 diapers and size 4 shoes.

- When your Dad and I are sitting on the floor you like to walk up to us- walking backwards- until you feel our legs hit the back of yours and then you plop down into our laps to sit.

Here are some pictures from the month:

Dada pushing you on the riding toy and playing in the tent.

You love to sit/play on pillows and turn them into chairs. Same goes for this large stuffed animal.

You like to chew on Ghost Bear and carry him around in your mouth.

You like to wear hats again, but it has to be your idea.

Trying to put on your shoes. You are better at taking them off than putting them on.

Stacking the fireplace candles like blocks.

Playing Piano. You are facinated with the piano and for that matter, drumming on things and listening to the sound of your voice and how it changes when you talk into different sized objects.

Turning your stacking rings into a bracelet and anklet.

Checking out the spot of light on the floor.

Checking out what the world looks like upside down. You love to do this!

Happy to have Dada home from work and ready to play!

We can't believe that you are already almost 1 1/2 years old!

{Peek-a-boo!}

One of our daily games is "chase". Ethan loves to run into the kitchen and I'll watch him through the cutout window. When he turns around to run back out of the kitchen I duck down and then pop my head through the cutout to suprise him. He loves this and shrieks and squeals and then runs back to the other side of the kitchen to repeat the game. So fun!

Licky Cats

I am surrounded by boys. Even our cats are male. Bailey and Beau are best friends but like a lot of boys they like to wrestle. And licking always turns to biting. And biting usually turns to play fighting and wrestling.

 Beau thinks Bailey needs a bath.

Bailey's not so certain he agrees.

What?! I didn't do anything- I promise!

Oh, kitty boys!

Perpetual Motion

{Blur}

Sometimes motherhood is a blur of perpetual motion. Chasing after the toddler over and over again until I've reached the point that as soon as he runs into our bedroom I know he's headed toward the toilet paper in our bathroom and that I should grab the camera en-route as I chase after him.
