Ethan's 5th Birthday Party!

Ethan asked for an Angry Birds themed party again this year. At first I suggested other themes but since he truly wanted the same theme again, we just went with it!

We made an "Angry Birds" throwing game which was a big hit with the kiddos!

Landon had his Grand Daddy wrapped around his finger and enjoyed having him help reach the snacks.

Poppy helped Landon with the snacks too!

Landon making a game out of feeding snacks to Grammy. While the party chaos followed Ethan, Landon enjoyed getting one-on-one time with his grandparents.

As always, it was a fun party and Ethan whole-heartedly enjoyed being the Birthday Boy!

Playing in the dark

 

Winter and early evenings make it difficult to catch an evening walk before bed let alone a trip to the park. However, the early dark is great for lightsaber battles. I have a feeling they are going to miss playing in the dark together before bed when summer (and all that natural light) comes along. Landon wanted TWO sabers so Ethan did too. Eventually they realized it was easier to duel with only one. Ethan asked me to put on some "Darth Vader music" and he happily played, pretended, and became a Jedi/not-bad-guy Darth Vader and played out a dozen different imaginary scenarios of his making.

Happy New Year!

We had a small New Years Eve celebration at home with the boys. We did sparklers, ate popcorn, and played Spot It and an animal matching game. Then we watched a cartoon countdown to 2015 on Netflix and rang in the New Year at 8 pm. After the boys went to bed, Garrett and I stayed up and watched Back to the Future 2 so we could giggle about the portrayal of the year 2015. It was a fun evening! I can't imagine a better way to ring in the new year than with my family.
