Christmas 2011

Posting this a bit late, but here are a few pictures from Christmas 2011. Due to a hard drive crash and trouble retrieving the file backups (not impossible, just running into issues slowing me down), I figured I should just post what I have instead of holding out for the family Christmas photos to post along with these.

Why I am behind on blogging

So Garrett pointed out that it's been almost 2 weeks since my last blog post. I knew I've been a little bit behind on blogging lately. (I never posted pictures of E getting into the Halloween decorations let alone much of anything past that point.) but I didn't realize it had been quite so long. I  have a few really good reasons why I'm behind though! And here are a couple of them:

I've had so much fun taking and editing these photos. I'm finally done with editing them (though this is just a few of them and not every session) and now I plan to make time to get caught up on this little blog of mine before I do the next several shoots that are coming up! I feel honored that these families chose me to capture this moment of their lives for them and blessed by the opportunity to spend time doing something that I love!

And since I'm a shutter bug I didn't stop taking pictures of my own family during this time so I am WAY backed up on photos that need to be processed. But that can wait...maybe till after Christmas?

Chestnut square Christmas scenes

1/2/12: Started this post in 2011 and never finished editing the photos of Ethan eating a lollipop so I never posted. Then I had a hard drive crash and the rest is history! Posting this a *bit* late. :-)

-----------------------------------------------------

Last week Ethan and I met up with our friends from our photography playgroup for a Christmas themed photoshoot playdate. Ethan had SO MUCH FUN! He was such a happy boy. In fact he was so excited that I could hardly get him to stay in one spot long enough for me to snap a picture. And he was way too absorbed in what he was doing to pay any attention to Mom. He danced and ran and jabbered away all over Chestnut square. It was fun to see his excitement and he explored the Christmas scenes.

He and his buddies had fun chasing Chester the resident cat at Chestnut square. That kitty was so sweet and patient with the kids. At one point Ethan right right up to him and started petting him and the kitty just sat there while Ethan bent over him jabbering away at the top of his lungs.

One of Ethan's friends brought extra lollipops and shared with Ethan. This was his first lollipop that he's actually tried (second one offered to him). At first he didn't want to try it but once he did he decided it was pretty good! In fact he didn't want to put it down. He made me laugh so hard. His sweet innocence and enjoyment of the treat was so precious to watch.

Goodnight boys!

This Momma is tired and ready for bed.

{side note: I took the photo of G back in September when I started this post and E last night so that's why G is shirtless in PJ's.}

little update

I know its only been 9 days since my last entry but I feel like I've neglected this family journal of mine. I've been taking pictures and starting blog entries I just haven't had the time to complete them or finish editing the pictures. And don't even get me started on how neglected my homemade Christmas gifts have been. Starting to get nervous about that.

I have spent every evening editing photos though, they just aren't photos of my child or family. I've had several paid photoshoots lately that I've been working on and with a few more still scheduled I may be posting our months of Nov/Dec in February. ;-) I'll eventually show you some of what I have been working on lately but in the meantime I just wanted to say that I haven't forgotten about this little blog of mine!

{All is calm, all is bright}

Our child was snuggled all warm in his bed while we had Christmas lights and music going. Our kitties kept Garrett company while he read his book and I worked on photos.

Isn't he a lucky guy to have two snugly cats and a book??
