Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was pretty quite around here. Landon was on day 8 of being sick and so our plans were cancelled and we spent a quite evening at home with Christmas cartoons and Christmas music. Landon got excited when I setup the camera, tripod, and remote but his excitement only lasted a few shots. By the time Garrett was in the frame Landon remembered that he was feeling sick. That's okay though, I think its still the perfect family picture.

Merry Christmas!

158/365: Well baby visit

I put Landon up on the table so he could play with the "baby in the mirror" while waiting for the doctor. I tried to get a good picture of him doing it but I should have guessed that the camera would be more interesting! Instead I thought I'd at least get a picture of the two of us together though I hit the shutter too soon and neither of us was looking. :-) Landon is getting harder to photograph now that he wants to grab the camera whenever he sees it!

113/365: Reading in the nursery

Self-portrait of me with my boys. One of their favorite books lately has been "Brother's Forever".

Christmas ball

We don't have very many glass ornaments on the tree this year, but we did put up a few because the tree just looked too different to us without a few Christmas balls!

Self-portrait: 11- 28- 12

The natural light in Landon's nursery is so beautiful in the afternoon. Especially at this time of year. I found my tripod (which I couldn't find the other day) so I decided to give the self-portrait another try. This time I decided to try to capture a lens flare with the light coming in from the nursery window. I was using my wireless remote so once I setup the shot I couldn't see how things turned out until I had taken my shots. I was successful in one of my shots, even though it didn't turn out looking exactly like I had pictured it in my head.

So far the three self-portraits I've attempted haven't been very creative but I'm learning and getting better each time I do it. Maybe one day I'll get good enough at it to capture Ethan in a picture as well! (I asked him if he wanted to be in the picture but he said no, and then decided that he no longer wanted to wear pants. So I guess things worked out for the best).

Self portrait: 11- 16- 2012

{Landon and Mommy: 10 weeks old and 29 years old}

Self portraits are hard and I have a lot to learn about doing them. The two second delay on my remote timer is helpful but it still can be hard to hide the remote and get situated in time. I didn't do the best job of hiding it and looking natural but it gives me something to work on. Since I don't have many pictures of me and my boys I figured I needed to stop being so critical and post it anyway!

9- 26- 12: Self portrait

Well, self-portrait with help. With my back thrown out I can't lift Landon so Garrett was nearby to hand Landon to me and make sure I was alright. (So don't worry Mom!)
