{Daily Life} Two Elephants
Landon has two "Elephant" lovies, only he usually gets them one at a time. One in circulation, and one in the wash. When both are clean, one goes in his pajama drawer. Today was a clean and do laundry day and I quickly threw both Elephants in his room with the intent to put one away properly when I went into his room to tidy it. Landon has been pretty attached to Elephant lately and when he asked me where Elephant was, I told him it was in his room. I heard a happy shriek, ran towards his room and snapped this. I had no idea that finding TWO elephants was what had made him so happy!

He wanted to show puppy the "Let it Go" song just one more time before bed. He never made it through the song.

Landon: 2 years old!
Landon,
At 2 years old you:
- Weigh: 29 lbs (60th percentile), and are 35 inches tall (74th percentile) and have a head circumference of 48.6 cm
- Wear size 5 diapers
- Clothes size: Mostly 24 month, starting to wear some 2T.
- Sleep: Sometimes you nap, and sometimes you play quietly in your crib for two hours with your Elephant. If it wasn't for the video monitor I might not know that you are doing this! You have been going down for bed in the evening around 8:30 pm and sleeping in until around 8 am. I see you trying to climb out of your crib but thankfully you have yet to reach this milestone.
- Food: You are becoming picky on whatever I try to serve you for dinner but you gladly eat fruits, some veggies, and cheese or yogurt at lunch and breakfast. The same food that you refuse to eat off your plate tastes much better if you are sitting in my lap and eating it off my plate. You have started eating everything "backwards" that can possibly be eaten that way and you love using the fork.
- Words: You talk like such a big kid and even use slang like "So cool" to describe things. You are also starting to get silly and show your sense of humor. You have begun elaborating on the scenes in your picture books and are adding to the story. For example, the "bears sitting on chairs" in Good Night Moon are going to go outside their window so they can go swimming outside.
You are still flexing your independence. You like to try doing things yourself before coming to us to ask for help (or permission).
Landon, what can I say about you at age two? You are silly and independent. You are quiet and observant. You surprise me daily with the things that you know how to do or have picked up through conversations. You look up to your big brother and you are all BOY. You were only 1 and a half when you picked up a cape and super hero mask and asked to put them on, but when you did....you turned into another person! You grew two more feet and gained 10 more pounds and affected a new gait. You know who Spiderman is and we don't have anything Spiderman in the house. (No particular reason, just your brother is more into Star Wars than super heroes). You instinctively knew how to pretend to be a firefighter and put out fires. You know the names of the Thomas the Tank Engine trains and see imaginary train tracks and roads everywhere. As soon as you could talk, you could roar like a dinosaur and you love anything that is wild, messy or full of adventure. It is so fun to be your Mommy and I feel privileged to be part of your adventures. I never knew how much fun being a boy mom would be; I wouldn't trade it for the world. <3 p="">

{Daily Life} At the Movies
The four of us went to go see "How to Train your Dragon 2" in honor of Landon's upcoming birthday. Landon's first time in the theater was for "Free Birds" and he had just turned 1 so this experience felt brand new to him. He took it all in and explored all the details from looking up to the ceiling to touching the lights on the floor. When the movie started he sat still through about 3/4's of the movie in his own seat sharing popcorn with the rest of us like a big kid. Eventually he wanted to sit in Mommy and then Daddy's lap but he did really well and we were all able to see the entire movie. It was a fun family date!

Park hopping with friends
Today we decided to check out a new park with our friends! We have a list of parks in our general area that we want to try out. We can't believe we never knew about this gem before. It was shady and relaxing and had so many neat things for the kids to do.
