Busy Bridal Weekend!

This has been a very busy packed weekend! Saturday afternoon/evening I took Bridal portraits for my friend Rachel. She is getting married in November and Garrett and I are both in the wedding party. We spent four hours taking photos and had a great time doing it! It was a LOT of fun! I was climbing all over things to take photos- I think I forgot that I'm 5 1/2 months pregnant :-) I had no idea how tired I was until after we were done and I finally sat down.....wow....didn't realize I could feel so sore from taking photos. :-)

I can't post any photos of her yet, (just in case her fiance reads our blog!) but I will leave you with these bouquet photos....

Friday evening, Saturday evening, and this morning I have been gathering/making things for Rachel's Bridal Shower! I'm hosting a shower for her this afternoon. This will be the first shower that I have ever thrown by myself so I was pretty nervous at first but now that I have everything made, etc, I realize it was pretty silly to be nervous. I'm excited and I hope that her shower turns out well and that she is blessed by it. 4 more hours till shower time!

Week 23 Photo

I can still (barely) fit into my exercise clothes!

Normally I wear one of Garrett's T-shirts and I grabbed this one out of his closet- however it turns out it was one of my misplaced shirts. I was surprised it still "fit". :-)

I've had to increase my walks back up to 2-3 times a day to help with the swelling. During the first trimester I went down to 1-2 times a day and then eventually 1 time per day due to nausea and fatigue and overtime at work but now that the late 2nd trimester swelling has begun its back to being serious about exercising! Oh well, its good for me, right? I have to say, I'm actually looking forward to him being born so that I can start lifting weights again- I never thought I miss lifting weights! Lets just hope that feeling lasts once I'm sleep deprived....

Diapering Challenge

So tonight we went to a baby shower for a couple at church. One of the shower games that they had was a diapering challenge for the men! The men lined up blindfolded and were each given a baby doll and a newborn diaper to see who could diaper the best/the fastest. I have to say- it was pretty fun to watch!

Here are a few pictures of my hubby trying to figure out the diaper. In his defense, he has never changed a diaper before in his life- let alone blindfolded. :-)

Garrett (in all sincerity) asking, "Where are the leg holes?"

You can tell which one of these guys in the seasoned pro in the bunch.

Ta' da! Not too bad!

Weekend in Arlington!

I know I'm posting this a bit late, but last weekend we went up to Arlington, Texas with my parents and sisters and had a blast at the baby consignment sale! It is put on by an organization called "Just Between Friends" and they hold a sale twice a year for gently used baby items. I forgot to take a camera and take a picture, but here is an image I found on the website. We spent a couple of hours on Saturday morning shopping and found some great deals! My mom's friend Robbie, went to the pre-sale a few days ahead of us and did an excellent job scouting ahead for major bargains. We got an excellent deal on a swing and an exersaucer from the pre-sale. Yay! Way to go Robbie!

After our bargain shopping we dropped by Babies R Us so that I could work on our baby registry. I had never been to a Babies R Us before but it was pretty cool! It was neat to see so much baby stuff in one store.

Later that evening we dropped by my Aunt Jennifer's house for brisket. It turns out that Jennifer had gathered a lot of our extended family members together and we were greeted by a full house! I had no idea so many people would be there- it was fantastic! It was great getting to see everyone and spend time with family. It was the perfect end to a wonderful Saturday.

It rained pretty hard all weekend long so Sunday morning after breakfast we decided to part ways and each head back to our respective towns and I got to say goodbye to my sister Morgan who was about to leave in a week to study abroad in Japan for a year. All in all it was a great weekend- productive, quality time with family, and we got back in town mid day with time to get ready for the week. Can't get better than that! :-)

Week 21 Photo

Well, I seem to have misplaced the pregnancy photos that Garrett was taking weekly at the beginning of my pregnancy so I don't have any of the comparison shots (I was wearing the same outfit, standing in the same spot, etc) but I figured I would just move forward and go ahead and post the photo that we took this weekend.

Here is my week 21 belly shot:

Sure wish I could find those first trimester photos so that I could prove that I really did once look skinny in this outfit! ;-)
